In this presentation, Michael Arthur Vacca, M.Theol., JD, BA, Catholic bioethicist and Director of Ministry, Bioethics, and Membership Experience at Christ Medicus Foundation, addresses the moral and spiritual dangers of assisted suicide. Rooted in Catholic teaching, he explains how terms such as “death with dignity” and “medical aid in dying” obscure the reality of assisted suicide and argues that true compassion never eliminates suffering by eliminating the person who suffers. Vacca also discusses related end-of-life concerns, including the denial of food and water, overmedication, and the cultural lie that vulnerable people are burdens. His message calls Christians to defend the dignity of every human person and respond to suffering with love, care, and hope.
